After the euphoria of last week and the subsequent result in midweek when Met Police beat Woking, one would have thought the Woods would have been in with a good chance of getting something from this game.

But what a funny game football is! The Woods took a hammering 4-0 against a team who just wouldn’t let Northwood have the ball.

It wasn’t until late substitutions were made that the Woods threatened the Woking goal. In a scrappy first half the Woods held their own without being a threat, but conceded a goal on 36 minutes when Ollie Palmer drove home from the edge of the box to give Woking a 1-0 interval lead.

The second half was all Woking as they passed the ball around, not giving Northwood a sniff of it. They increased the lead after some poor defensive work on 51 minutes when Sean Bradley was given too much room, and he fired home. Then six minutes later the same player made it 3-0.

An impressive Olla Sogbanmu finished off a good afternoon’s work on 67 minutes after more poor defending allowed him to run through easily to slot home.

In the last 10 minutes the Woods began to attack, and Campbell-Grimshaw and Agera Terngu gave the Woking goalie his first action of the day ,when he had to make two first class saves to keep the home side out.
